Why Einstein By Design

🔬

Hands-On Every Time

From robotics to molecular gastronomy, every session puts real tools in children's hands so they discover by doing, not just watching.

🎭

Science Meets Adventure

Our programs transform ordinary days into unforgettable STEAM experiences. Kids don't just learn — they live it.

🧗

Built by a Climber

Founded by Tai Smallwood — Montessori-trained — EBD embodies the belief that every child is born to reach new heights.

🌍

Globally Recognized

Partners include Google for Startups, La French Tech, the U.S. Dept. of Education, and the Boy Scouts of America.

STEM Character Events

Where science meets storybook magic. Our cast of science-powered characters transforms birthdays, bar mitzvahs, school events, and more into unforgettable STEM adventures.

The People Behind the Magic

Our Staff

We hire the best and the brightest — and we keep them. Many of our educators have been with Einstein By Design for years, bringing consistency, depth, and genuine relationships to every program we deliver.

🔍

Rigorously Vetted

Every Einstein By Design staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our team. Your child's safety is never an afterthought — it is our first priority.

🏅

Gold Standard Training

Our educators receive comprehensive training in EBD's curriculum, hands-on facilitation techniques, and child development best practices — so every session is engaging, innovative, and developmentally on point.

❤️

Whole Child Focused

We train our staff to meet children's emotional well-being needs alongside their academic ones. A child who feels safe, seen, and supported learns better — and that's exactly the environment we create.

🌟

Built on Consistency. Delivered with Heart.

Many of our educators have been with EBD for years — building real relationships with the communities we serve and delivering a consistently high-quality experience across every city, every campus, and every camp. That kind of continuity doesn't happen by accident. It's what happens when you invest in people who love what they do.

Our Story · Est. 2014

Built by a Climber

Einstein By Design was founded by Tai Smallwood — Montessori-trained educator, La French Tech Visa for Founders recipient, and a passionate believer that every young person is born to reach new heights. Since 2014, EBD has brought hands-on STEAM education to thousands of children across the United States and internationally, through summer camps, school visits, after-school programs, and science-powered special events.

Beyond our camps and events, Einstein By Design is building something bigger. We are developing an innovative, design-focused product line to deepen children's STEAM learning — including a unique bilingual book series and several circuit-based build kits. We also provide international technical assistance in STEAM program development for schools, community-based learning spaces, and government entities. As we continue to grow our global footprint, we are grateful for our French partners and excited about what comes next. To learn more about our work in France, visit us at www.einsteinbydesign.fr.

The name Einstein By Design isn't just a nod to the greatest thinker of our time — it's a promise. That every program is thoughtfully designed, every instructor is expertly trained, and every child leaves knowing they are capable of something great.

Our Staff

We hire the best and the brightest — educators who don't just teach, they inspire.

🌟

Years of Dedication

Many of our staff have been with us for years, growing alongside Einstein By Design and helping us build the consistency and quality that parents and schools have come to expect. They don't just know our programs — they helped shape them.

Our Mission

Our Mission

To give every young person the TIME — the space to Tinker, Innovate, Make, and Explore — and the tools, mentors, and experiences to discover what they are truly capable of. We believe joyful science and hands-on learning are not privileges. They are rights.

Our Approach

We blend Design Thinking, Montessori principles, and cutting-edge STEAM curriculum into programs that feel less like school and more like the best day of a kid's life. Every session is hands-on, every instructor is trained and passionate, and every child is treated as the capable innovator they already are.

Our Standard

We carefully choose every aspect of our programs — from who we partner with, to curriculum, instructors, and even the materials in our tinker kits — to maintain the high level of instruction that parents, schools, and communities expect from us.

Our Commitment

Access and equity matter deeply to us. We award scholarships and offer partnership pricing to ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation. Every child deserves the opportunity to discover their inner engineer, scientist, and maker.
